Sneak Peek at Broken Promises: Sexy Banter

As each day passes and October gets closer, I'm becoming more and more excited. To the point of complete IMPATIENCE. For those who remember, Broken Promises was the story I wrote for my 2010 NaNoWriMo project - my first real attempt at completing a story. I have loved this storyline from the very beginning and FINALLY ... FINALLY its almost ready for release. Just a few more weeks and the world gets to meet Brianna Lane and the sexy Quinn Michaels. Like I said .. IMPATIENT. Oh and did I mention GIDDY? To share that excitement, here's a small excerpt ...
Enjoy <3
“Quit looking at me like that, and answer my question.” I laughed. “I need to know what blow ’em up, blood and guts movie you’ve picked so I can prepare myself.”
“Well, I could tell you, but I love watching you squirm a little so . . . no. I’m not telling you anything. You’ll have to wait and see.” He turned to look through his window but not before I caught the smug look on his face. I wanted to throttle him. I shook my head in annoyance and poked out my tongue. He chuckled softly.
“Don’t threaten me unless you know how to use it, Bree.”
A blush burned across my cheeks and I opened my mouth to ask him how he knew. Before I could get the words out, Quinn laughed again before tapping his knuckles against the window.
“Remember, I can see your reflection so unless you want a refresher course in manners, I’d keep your tongue safe in that cute mouth of yours.”
“And if I do?” I replied cheekily, a small heat building inside me. Gosh, I loved this man, bantering with him. The look he was giving me almost reduced me to putty.
He pointed at the approaching street. “Pull over, sweetheart, and I’ll show you.” He added a wink to his grin, and countless possibilities flooded my mind.

Pinterest Night #1 - Can't Be Board Eating Pie With Zac Efron.

If you're anything like me, you LOVE Pinterest. You can sit there for hours and pin picture after picture after picture. Doesn't matter what it is - funny photo or quote, story inspiration, sexy man candy, craft or food, I collect it and love looking through them.
My partners in crime, Lacey Weatherford and Kamery Solomon, also have the same addiction. So we've started a tradition ... PINTEREST NIGHT!! We picked with our fave pins, gathered the needed supplied, and released our inner PIN-DIVANESS!
Here's the results ...
I'd like to say I devoured these ... hahaha. I'm not sure what happened (we're suspecting it was a time length issue) but they didn't taste how I expected. I think I've been spoiled by the fried version of this treat and we were tempted to batter them. It would've defeated the purpose, however, so we looked sadly at them.
It was a NO BRAINER that this would be a decadent treat for our taste buds and a future enemy to our thighs and butts *grins* HOLY COW, it was AMAZING. Chocolate overload, yummilicious goodness, I-think-I-died-and-went-to-HEAVEN!! It was super easy to make and the perfect way to finish our meal. I was a little piggy and asked for a little extra helping ... it almost put me into a sugar coma. SO WORTH IT!!
Chocolate addiction aside, this was my FAVE recipe (I also picked it but I can't really brag because I was distracted at the time :D) It was easy to make, cheap and it made up a big batch for next day sampling. I loved how juicy and tasty the tuna mixture was. It had a great zing and the tomatoes and avocado chunks complimented it. What REALLY put it over the top though was also sprinkling swiss cheese over the top. YUMMY and HEALTHY. Hahaha unless you put mountains of cheese on it.
This is what I'd like to call WWPD.
(What would Pinterest do)
We had questionable eggs and Kam remembered seeing a tip on Pinterest.
We also got adventurous and chose a craft to do as well. We're all VERY visual people and love to keep a positive focus on things. We decided to create a visualization board for our offices. If we can imagine our goals, see the things we'd love to have in our lives, we can believe we'll accomplish them. Kinda like a picture bucket list. This is mine and I'll post an update when I get my photos set up. Being a perfectionist, doing crafts are a little stressful but I love how it turned out *grins*

Once we were done, we ended the night with an EPIC SWOON! If you haven't seen The Lucky One with Zac Efron ... get your copy and WATCH IT. I love this movie. Not only do I marvel at how swoony Nicholas Sparks can write, but there is a scene that literally had me stop breathing. I shared a few photos above ... it was incredible and my favorite? His teeth grazing on her thigh *SWOON* I'll be watching and rewatching and rewatching it when I get toward the end of Testing Fate for research *winks*
So all in all, the night was a success!
For those interested, feel free to stop by our Pinterest boards and check out our pins.

Free For A Limited Time: A Midsummer Night's Fling

If the FREE part doesn't have you rushing over to Smashwords to download your FREE copy, maybe this will tempt you ....
Enchanted Hearts Excerpt
I knew I shouldn’t be here, but like every other time, her beauty beckoned me.
I was helpless to resist the lure of temptation—completely captivated—enchanted. Some would find irony in a Fae enchanted by a human. Once upon a time, I may have argued with them and convinced them of the impossibility of such a statement.
That was before I saw her, however. Everything had changed in that moment.
I don’t believe in fate, the concept absurd to those of my people. We are endless—eternal—the masters of our own destinies. The longevity of our lives affords us the chance to sample all that life offers and with that comes the arrogant belief of our superiority.
Had someone told me I would become fascinated with a human female, I would’ve laughed and dismissed them with a casual wave of my hand. I would’ve reminded them who I was—Prince Hadrian Strongbow, youngest son to Queen Willomena—and such behavior was beneath me.
That was before I saw her, however. Everything changed in that moment.
Aithne. Her name was like a prayer on my lips.
Until that first encounter, I’d considered myself incapable of being influenced by baser emotions. But one look at her radiant beauty—the way her countenance seemed to outshine even the sun—was my undoing.
      I didn’t ever stand a chance.
Book Blurb
Enchanted Hearts
by Belinda Boring

Aithne thought her dreams had come true when Hadrian, a Fae prince, stepped into her life and filled it with wonder . . . that was until her friend, William, declared his love, promising her more than mere moments. Three enchanted hearts . . . two honorable men . . . one important choice . . . an unforgettable Midsummer Night's Festival.

by Kamery Solomon

Raith has never been in love. In fact, he's spent his entire existence as the terror in mortal nightmares. When he enters Emilee's dream, he discovers that his powers do not work on her and she can see him as well. Being Fae he isn't allowed to show himself to a human, but there is something different about Emilee.

Faery Kissed
by Lacey Weatherford

Bran has always wanted to try and see the Fae during Midsummer's Eve, when the Earth realm and Faery are blended. What he didn't count on was meeting a beautiful Fae princess who would turn his world completely upside down, wreaking havoc on both his life, his heart, and his future.

Blog Tour ~ The Book Waitress by Deena Remiel

I am giddy SQUEE excited.
Yep, I know I say that a lot but this ... this is DEENA REMIEL! She's the author that brings you the UBER sexy Brethren series and swoony reads such as Picture Perfect, and Ghost of a Chance. When she announced she was publishing a brand new series I couldn't wait .... and ta-da here it is! I'm grateful to be a stop on her blog tour and that I had the chance to review The Book Waitress  - I. Loved. It! And here's why ....

My Review

Wow. Wow. Wow. Mega Wow.

I'm used to swooning whenever I read something by Deena Remiel, and The Book Waitress was no different. I loved the concept behind the book - a shy woman who takes a job in a library and gets WAY more than she bargained for. Mystery and intrigue with foul plots abound and yes ... a VERY sexy man is involved.

Camille doesn't like people, prefering books, so working in the library is the perfect occupation. But everything isn't as it seems - from the bizarre behavior of her coworkers to resident ghosts that love to mess around with her. When she meets Derek, things start to heat up and she finds herself caught in an investigation that surprisingly involves ... HER.

I really loved the characters in this book. Camille and Derek were the perfect blend of humor and shy cuteness - you wanted them to get together. They complimented one another and I loved watching everything unfold. I got the feeling I was glimpsing something special .. you know, the budding romance and newness when you discover "Wow, you make me light headed and weak at the knees ... look my hands tremble when you're near." I can't wait to see how this series progresses because I know the spark between Camille and Derek will keep growing and growing.

Okay. Usually its the hero that has me swooning, so I was a little surprised by this but HOLY HECK ... I loved, loved, loved the villian in The Book Waitress. Victor was completely SINISTER. Deena Remiel can write evil like no other ... she held NOTHING back and dived straight into Hell to deliver us perfection. He was menacing. He was callous. He was cold and unfeeling. He was DELICIOUS. The creep factor that radiated off the pages he was on made my skin crawl, his actions toward the end made me want to vomit. Hahaha ... and I LOVED IT. Victor was the character that put this story over the top and had me thinking of the story weeks after I finished it. I know, I'm a freak but hey, I embrace it.

This is definitely a book you want to read. It has everything in it from romance to mystery to horror to the supernatural. Deena Remiel knows exactly how to ellicit emotion from her readers and delivers a story that will leave you begging for more. Grab a copy of the book and don't forget to tip your waitress - she's been through Hell <3
Rating - 5 STARS

Camille Dutton learned early in life Satan was not to be trifled with. Escaping his evil clutches as a child, he's come back with a vengeance for her now. Derek Galloway's inquisitive nature has led him to be an award-winning investigative reporter and straight into the path of pure evil.

When a child vanishes from a sleepy island town, Camille, its subdued librarian, becomes embroiled in Derek's investigation. A satanic cult has plans for the child, while Satan has plans for Camille and the rest of the world. Amidst evil of the most supernatural and human kind, Derek and Camille find a shred of light and goodness in the form of their budding relationship.

First in the Book Waitress Series, the portal between Hell and Earth will be torn asunder, and it will take everything Camille and Derek have and then some to close it. Satan won't go down easy, but nothing worth everything comes without a price.
