Blog Tour De Troops - Free Ebooks & Tribute!

Welcome everyone!! If you're following along, you've just come from visiting Rachel Thompson and when you leave here, make sure you continue on to see Stacy Verdick Case!

I am so excited and proud to be part of this event, brought to us by the Indie Book Collective! If you're familiar with them, every month they provide readers like you and me, the chance to increase our reading library by giving away ebooks. All you need do is visit the authors blog, leave a comment and VOILA - an ecopy of their book is yours.

For this event - it's even BIGGER because not only can you get up to 50 new ebooks but for every comment, one of our beloved troops gets an ecopy as well!!

I'm not sure how many of you know, but I'm an Australian and moved to the USA close to 12 years ago. I loved where I was born and raised, still hold an incredible sense of homesickness and I'll admit, it broke my heart to leave but love has you do crazy things. I can truly say, I didn't know what patriotism was until I watched my youngest daughter, and it's been an experience that has deeply touched my heart.

I came right before 9/11 and was horrified by what happened. I joined everyone, watching the TV as report after report was shown and we were all devastated. But do you know what I also remember ? The incredible spirit that emerged - the way a country rallied. The way my daughter would beg each time she heard a patriotic song on the radio and sing it loudly ... proudly. The way her eyes would light up when she was able to honor the brave troops who were willing to sacrifice everything for her freedom. Our freedom. Such a little girl at the time but she taught me a huge lesson - for every privilege I enjoy, someone has fought hard for it. There's a few songs we love to sing - her favorites but I wanted to show one of mine.

American Soldier by Toby Keith

As my part of this event, I was hoping to have my latest release, Blood Oath completed. It's release has been bumped back a week so I have a special offer for everyone. For those who comment today, I will send not only an ecopy of Blood Oath, #3 in the Mystic Wolves series when it's released next week BUT to get you started on the series, I'm also giving away Without Mercy, #1 in the series and short story!! What a deal, right? Books #1 AND #3!!

So make sure you leave your name and email in the comments so I can send you the ebooks. I'd also love to hear what patriotic song you love to sing along to.

Please feel free to visit Lacey Weatherford Books for her review of Without Mercy. She'll even share what she thought about the sneak peek of Blood Oath.

Remember, there are 50 ebooks up for grabs, so visit  Indie Book Collective for a list of author blogs and if you'd like to make a donation to the troops, go to Paypal and use Please include a short note that your contribution is for the troops!!

Have fun everyone and happy reading!!

hi Bels! it must have been really hard for you to leave and migrate to a different country. i feel for the troops as well. you and they have a common reason for doing so somehow. you said it yourself - "love has you do crazy things." you did it for love. the troops did it for love of country and freedom.
i already have a copy of Without Mercy so i can settle for Book 3. it would be great, though, if a member of the troops could get both.
thanks for your contribution to the troops and for being part of this tour. c",)

Hello :) My husband is an Aussie and he came over just after 9/11. It was an interesting time for him to see and experience America.

I'm not a huge one for patriotic songs (though I do love the Marine Hymn) but at my husband's citizenship ceremony they played Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA and I welled up. In his ceremony were people from North and South Korea, Iran, China, Australia, Western Europe, etc, and it was such a moving moment.

I'd love to read your books! You can find me at dinozzogibbs @ gmail dot com G'day, and thank you!

Good morning everyone! Sorry for the late start in commenting but I didn't get home to 3am this morning from a road trip. I went to see my beloved LOBOS play in a High School football game and it was a long drive!

Interesting thing I noticed, which seems fitting with what I shared in my post. This was a play off game - two teams fighting hard to win. It can get INTENSE at these games but I loved the unity I saw when the National Anthem was played. While everyone stood and listened, there was no teams... just one group of people. I loved it!

Thank you for coming by today and showing your support. This is such an amazing event - not just because we're able to share with readers, but we're also reaching out to the troops. This is such an incredible was to give back!

Hope you're all following along and gathering each book!! It's perfect timing too because as the weather is starting to get cold, we can all snuggle under the covers and read to our hearts content!

I love to sing along with just about all the patriotic songs & even have a patriotic song playlist on YouTube, so I can listen to my favorites wherever I happen to be & have access to the internet. My favorite for some time now has been "Some Gave All" by Billy Ray Cyrus. I've had many family members serve in various branches of the military, both in the US & overseas. One of my mom's uncles didn't come back from WWII, so the sacrifices of our soldiers are very real to me.

God Bless America by Lee Greenwood is my favorite song.( On 9/11 I was in second grade. From my classroom window I could see the smoke from the towers and here sirens from every direction heading towards them. My school was on lock down and all the students were told to get under their desks. When my grandma picked my sister and I up from school that day she told us what had happened and that my mom, a nurse, was going to be working late at the hospital and my dad, a fireman, had gone with his fire department to the city to help. This song had been played over and over throughout that week and every time I hear it I feel blessed to know that in a time of need Americans came together. The lives lost on that day will never be forgotten. The men and women fighting for our country work hard night and day to prevent another horrific attack on our country. They give their lives so that we can live here in peace. Thank you can't even begin to show how grateful I am for all their sacrifices and hard work. I hope one day I can serve along side them. It is great what you are doing with your blog for our veterans and troops.

Not quite patriotic, but along the lines of military appreciation - I like Traced Atkins "Welcome to Hell". I also like Toby's other one but I can't remember the name right now. Thanks for the generous offer of the free ebooks!

However my best memories were singing God Bless the USA as the troops were returning from Gulf War #1 when I was in High School. We live between the port and Camp Lejueune and we were allowed to go out and line the highway and wave our flags and wave at the soldiers returning - it was an amazing thing to be a part of!

I used to send books overseas via 'Books for Soldiers', and this is the best way I've seen yet to continue that effort!

Thank-you for doing this. If you can, please send my copy to them as well.

My favorite patriotic song is Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" and also Alan Jackson's "Where Were You when the World Stopped Turning."

Thank you for doing this blog tour. I was so excited to be able to participate in this and send books to the heroic men and women who fight for our nation everyday.

I can't wait to read your books. I was going through my emails from the Masquerade Blog Tour, and realized that I never received a copy of "Cherished" that you offered even though I did leave a comment. Could I get a code for that one also, since I got missed on the last blog tour?

I would like the troop book to go to my cousin Zachary Neer serving in the United States Army in Afghanistan.

Thanks for the free book - can't wait to read your story!

Don't have a favorite patriotic song - so many good ones!

But my almost 6-year old came home from Kindergarten Friday - and started singing "God Bless America" - which they had apparently learned in Music Class.

Thanks to those who serve, their families - and to everyone participating in this tour. What a wonderful way to support the troops!

It's a wonderful thing all these authors are doing with the Blog Tour de Troops. I was just reading a news article in which active duty troops were lamenting the lack of new books to read! Thank you for your generosity and the contest!

My dad was a WWII vet and landed at Omaha Beach on D-day. He didn't live quite long enough to go on one of the Honor Tours and he didn't talk about the war but he looked very dashing in the pictures.
I don't sing much because allergies makes my voice all croaky but "America the Beautiful" was one I learned in first grade along with the Pledge of Intelligence so it holds a special place in my heart.
Thanks for the book and thanks for supporting our troops

thanks for doing this. As an army veteran of multiple deployments, I can assure you that reading provides sanity and a chance to explore worlds outside the dust/rain/dirt of the present un-fun. With the advent of eBook readers it has become even easier to read, try new authors and to feel less cut off from the world.

Toby Keith does a lot of patriatic songs that I find myself singing too a lot. One song that makes me cry is actually a poem and I don't think that it's really a song but the first time I heard it was on the Christmas channel, it's called different things A Soldier's Christmas poem or A Soldier's Night before Christmas.

This is such an awesome idea I believe and it warms my heart to be apart of it. I have such respect for our troops, their dedication, determination, and sacrifice are so great and so often they go without any gratitude for all they do. My thoughts and prayers are with all the men, women, and their families who sacrifice everyday so we shall be free.

Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning by Alan Jackson is very dear to my heart because no matter our differences that day we came together as a nation and showed the enemy that we shall stand strong in the face of unbelievable heartache and suffering. God Bless this Country and all those that sacrifice for it.

Thanks again,

I was going to say "Proud to be an American" but Shauna reminded me of "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" & I think that has to take preference.

Thanks to all the Indie authors for doing this for our troops. Was so happy to do this last Memorial Day & again this Veterans weekend. Looking forward to reading your books.

I can see it’s handy for booksellers to be able to slot every download ebooks
into a given genre, but it has nothing at all to do with quality. This mitigates against many a harmless good book
