Teaser Tuesday

Wow, it's been so long ... let's see if I can remember how to do this!

L.M. Pruitt

"You did this, you know. When I walked into you office five mornings ago, I was perfectly same. Or as sane as I could be, given my cousin's disappearance." Warm breath caressed the nape of my neck, an erotic contrast to the cold press of fingers in the small of my back. "Now thoughts of you intrude on my every waking moment. And my sleep. The dreams I've had of you ..."

(Hehe - I gave two sentences and then some freebies!)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Happy Thanksgiving - A Lot To Be Grateful For

So much has happened this year, and I guess if I was just to take a quick look back, it wouldn't be too hard to see all the challenges I've faced. But you know what?? As trying as they were, I am grateful for them because when all is said and done, they've been me stronger, happier and more determined than ever. I learned this year just how loved I am, how amazing it feels to not just want something, but to then reach out and fulfil my dreams. I have been surrounded by some of the most amazing people, and I am so thankful for the support and unfailing friendship they've offered. At no part of this year have I had to walk through things alone, there's always been someone who has listened, and touched my life. I've had so many new experiences, I've taken new risks, and I can honestly say - I'm living my dream. There have been amazing stories I've read - ones that have made me laugh, cry, and swoon.
I've started a new business and found the kind of success I never thought I'd achieve. I've found the confidence to share my imagination - to write.

This really has been an amazing year, and for that I jut want to say thank you ....
THANK YOU to everyone has been there and joined me for the journey.

Should I Ask Santa For The New Kindle Fire?

I am so indecisive! It took FOREVER for me to finally cave, and purchase a Kindle because I was ADAMANT I was selling my soul to the devil. After going back and forth, I bought the latest Kindle and absolutely LOVED it. I don't know how I lived without it, and it's never far from my reach. Even though I still buy print books, I love being able to highlight and make notes, especially for when I want to remember my favorite parts.

Everything was right in my world, and then what does Amazon do? They release a BIGGER, BETTER and SHINIER version and I'm TORN. I've written out a pros and cons list to see if that helps, but what I need is some outsider input. Here's what I have:

It holds more books
It plays music and movies
It connects to the internet (like iPad)
It has a back light
It has color (covers)

It has bad battery life.
Back light causes eye strain

Looking at my list, seems like a no brainer, right? You'd think, but I keep arguing with myself. Why do I have an ereader? TO READ. Is it really worth upgrading so I can listen to music and watch movies? My first thought is no, because that's what my TV and stereo are for. If I'm traveling, I can use my smart phone for music, and I'm not much for watching. Plus what happens if I can't get to somewhere to recharge the battery? That long life is a HUGE factor.

Being the cover whore I am, I love knowing that I can have a colored ereader, BUT most ebooks I get, I don't usually see the cover so there wouldn't be that squee filled stroking I enjoy. It would be helpful for comic books and magazines, but I don't read them. I'm a romance readers, so my ABS would be in color .... if I saw them! Ugh ... see the indecision?

Money is a factor - I paid $189 for my Kindle and the new Fire is $199. Do I have that? It would be worth it, if I knew I'd get the use out of the device. Do I spend so much on a "Maybe I'll use it?" or do I wait. Another thought is - how many times does a company release product, only to use it as a way to find the kinks before releasing the "new and improved" version. Should I wait to see? This is killing me!!

So my question is this - what are your thoughts? Have you been battling with the same, or have you already purchased it? Are you enjoying it or is it something you could've done with out?

Blood Oath Is Finally Here!!

It's official - Blood Oath, #3 in the Mystic Wolves series is now available!! And just to give you a teaser, I wanted to share a little snippet ... Mason swoon ....

“I love you.” I smiled up at him, those three words letting him know I’d heard and would follow. Last night scared me, and no amount of independence was worth a repeat. “Now can you finally kiss me?”

My insides melted as I watched the slow progression of a heart stopping grin cross his face and the way his eyes turned to instant smolder. I licked my lips in anticipation, slightly breathless as I waited for him to lower his head and press his lips against mine.

“What is it about you that I can’t resist?” he asked, inching painstakingly lower until he hovered just about my mouth, barely touching. His breath was hot, seductive, and it caused a ripple of excitement to course through me.

“Must be my sparkling personality,” I whispered back, struggling not to close the distance between us. Electricity charged the air, the chemistry of our connection wreaking havoc on my hormones.
He feathered his lips lightly over mine, just the ghost of a touch and I whimpered as he retreated without fully claiming my mouth. “Must be because I can barely remember my name when you look at me like that.” His fingers drew a soft line down the side of my cheek.

“And how is that?” I purred softly, a sultry tone to my voice. My body felt as if it would explode from the way he seemed to drink me in.

“Like the world doesn’t exist, but for the two of us. How did I deserve you?” He kissed me again. This time a little slower, pressing harder ...

Don't you just LOVE him???

For this event - it's even BIGGER because not only can you get up to 50 new ebooks but for every comment, one of our beloved troops gets an ecopy as well!!

I'm not sure how many of you know, but I'm an Australian and moved to the USA close to 12 years ago. I loved where I was born and raised, still hold an incredible sense of homesickness and I'll admit, it broke my heart to leave but love has you do crazy things. I can truly say, I didn't know what patriotism was until I watched my youngest daughter, and it's been an experience that has deeply touched my heart.

I came right before 9/11 and was horrified by what happened. I joined everyone, watching the TV as report after report was shown and we were all devastated. But do you know what I also remember ? The incredible spirit that emerged - the way a country rallied. The way my daughter would beg each time she heard a patriotic song on the radio and sing it loudly ... proudly. The way her eyes would light up when she was able to honor the brave troops who were willing to sacrifice everything for her freedom. Our freedom. Such a little girl at the time but she taught me a huge lesson - for every privilege I enjoy, someone has fought hard for it. There's a few songs we love to sing - her favorites but I wanted to show one of mine.

American Soldier by Toby Keith

As my part of this event, I was hoping to have my latest release, Blood Oath completed. It's release has been bumped back a week so I have a special offer for everyone. For those who comment today, I will send not only an ecopy of Blood Oath, #3 in the Mystic Wolves series when it's released next week BUT to get you started on the series, I'm also giving away Without Mercy, #1 in the series and short story!! What a deal, right? Books #1 AND #3!!

So make sure you leave your name and email in the comments so I can send you the ebooks. I'd also love to hear what patriotic song you love to sing along to.

Please feel free to visit Lacey Weatherford Books for her review of Without Mercy. She'll even share what she thought about the sneak peek of Blood Oath.

If you're familiar, this amazing group organizes tours where authors give away FREE books to every commenter. What makes this one so special is not only do YOU get free ebooks but for every comment, a TROOP gets one as well!
Today I'm so excited to once again put my PIMP hat on and shout from the top of my blog - VANCE MANGUM, BABY!!! Lacey Weatherford, author of the epicly phenomenal OF Witches And Warlocks series is not only giving away a copy of one of the books from her series BUT it happens to be my ALL TIME FAVORITE, SWOON TIL YOU CAN'T SWOON NO MORE, I WANT A VANCE OF MY OWN, BITE ME BABY ..... The Dark Rising. Here is where we see a whole new DELICIOUS Vance and we find out exactly what happens when the worst occurs. You do NOT want to miss your chance to get a copy...... TRUST ME!! Just in case you need further convincing, here's my review.

Pre-Release Gush

Out of all the books in this series, The Dark Rising is far my favorite because it raises my lust crush on Vance Mangum to EPIC proportions. I was devastated by the ending in book 3 and I couldn't wait to see where the author would take Vance and Portia next? Would they get to enjoy even a few moments of peace before all hell broke out again? This couple sizzles and I love the way their relationship had developed but watch out guys because this book will BLOW YOUR MIND with the twists. Vance is incredible and I've always wanted to see just how BAD this bad boy could be. Well I got my answer and my heart still hasn't recovered. I wished so hard to be Portia in this book, to be the object of Vance's cat and mouse play and you ladies are going to lose your ever lovin' minds . Think Damon but HOTTER *gasp did I just say that out aloud?* Hehehe I can't gush enough about this book and can't wait to see what everyone thinks. This is THE book to get this year. Go grab yourself the free coupon for book one while it lasts, read all 3 books to prepare yourself because you won't rest until every page of this book is devoured *takes deep breath* Can you tell I'm just a lil' excited?

Post-Release Gush

You would think that I would have nothing more to say on the topic seeing my pre-gush summed it up so eloquently. I read, I swooned, I swooned even HARDER, I lost my mind and then I pledged my eternal love to Vance all over again! No matter how many times I read this book, just the mere mention of it reduces me to tingles. It has nothing to do with watching its creation from the inside. It has EVERYTHING to do with the emotions it pulls out of you as the reader, and the rollercoaster ride you go on as you experience a read that doesn't come along every day. There is an amazing read... and then there is a phenomonal read... and then there is The Dark Rising. EPIC in all it's glory!

One thing that has always struck me as I've read this series, and been fortunate to get insights into the characters is just how fearless the author is. It's nice to play it safe, give the reader a little danger but keep the beloved characters in a good place and in one piece. One thing the author has always said is "What if?" What if the worst happened? What if Vance and Portia are tested in such a way they may never survive it? Does it make you want to cry just thinking about it? I know I did going into The Dark Rising. I wanted to reach in and wrap them both in cotton wool balls until all their hurts were better and it was rainbows and puppy dogs and everything cutesy. I have NEVER been so glad to be wrong! From the opening page, you can feel the tension, you can feel this sense of "something big" and when it explodes... HOLD ON TIGHT! This book drags you by the heart strings to the very end and just when you think WOOOOHOOO ... you get left with an ending that will have you hunting the author done for the next installment.

Portia and Vance are amazing. I absolutely LOVE the development of Portia. She's come along way from the 16 year old teenager that was given the "Surprise you're a witch!" She is the epitome of loyalty and everything you want in the person you love. I love that she fights for her relationship with Vance, that even as her world crumbles, she doesn't whimper and cower - she stands up and does all that she can. She risks everything and nothing is ever enough! She's part of why the romance in this book steals your heart.

Hahahaha Vance. What more can I say about him? I know everyone loves a bad boy and I'm definitely an addict but when you turn a bad boy evil - it's a constant swoon! There were scenes in this book so seductive, so intense that I literally stopped breathing and my body broke out in tingles. I love the possessiveness about him, the way he can't get enough of Portia and I'm telling you - you NEED to experience one of his kisses. They are SEARING! I can't wait to see where Vance goes next because he secured his place at the top of my Lust List!

I think you all get the idea and I'm hoping your next stop is to go grab yourself a copy of the book. This is a guaranteed AMAZING read! The entire series is incredible and this is by far my FAVORITE of the four books released. If you love epic love stories, fights between good and evil... if you love danger, magic and an emotional read from beginning to end.... if you love bad boys gone wild, heroines who fight with everything they have... THIS is the book for you. Happy reading!

Is there really anything left to say other than .... GO TO GET YOUR COPY!!!

A Snippet From The HIGHLY Anticipated Possession of Souls!

Okay, SQUEE with me everyone!! I have a snippet from Lacey Weatherford's FIFTH and final book in the amazing Of Witches And Warlocks series, Possession of Souls!! For those who don't follow her on Facebook (you should!) She shared a few of them as Halloween treats! Being the Vance stalker that I am, it was only a matter of time before I shared them here!! So are you ready to get your swoon on? Ready to brighten your day with a little sexy demon warlock?? Okay, brace yourself!

Vance checked the time on his watch.
"Now we wait," he said, looking over at me in the dimly lit space. He stared at me for a few seconds before he stepped closer, wrapping his hand behind my neck and pulling me to him.
"You really do look amazing tonight," he spoke, his lips brushing my forehead. He ran his hands, down the backless part of my dress, tickling my spine with his light touch. "This dress is positively sinful on you."
"It's a little more daring than I would normally pick out for myself," I admitted to him.
"I know," he replied. "But I like it just the same."
He lowered his lips to my shoulder, placing a tender kiss there, before slipping one of his fingers up under my chin and lifting my lips to his.
"I'm sorry about all the fighting that's been going on between us lately," he said, leaning in to place a light kiss against my mouth. "I know all of this is my fault, and if I could change it, I would. I just want you to know that."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled, hugging him tightly. "Well, we can't change the past, so let's look to fixing our future, shall we?"
"I agree." He kissed me fully then, pushing back against me until I was leaning up against the wall and he against me. He held my face sweetly cradled in his hands and I allowed myself to drown in his masterful touch for those few minutes, until the rattling of the door handle brought us both to full attention.
We froze.

NaNoWriMo Update - Blood Oath Is Going STRONG!

After spending the last two months in heavy burn out, November 1st rolled around and instead of focusing on a different story for the NaNoWriMo challenge, I tweaked it a little and added my own conditions. Instead of trying to complete one 50,000 word novel, I decided to be adventurous and not only write Blood Oath BUT finish two other projects I've had sitting on my laptop for forever! So not only will you get the next installment on the Mystic Wolves but you'll also get new material, a full length novel being one of them within the next month or two. WOOOHOOO, right?

NaNoWriMo kicked off a few days ago and I've been going strong, setting double the recommended word count so I can get more done. I've started with Blood Oath and I'm about to start the fourth chapter. Can I just say ... if you thought you loved Without Mercy and Cherished, you better prepare yourself for this because I have been giddy while I've been writing it. I just finished the burial ritual for Jasmine tonight and I'm lucky I made it through in one piece because I had a constant lump in my throat, several times with tears streaking down my cheek. I'm excited to share this with everyone!!

Speaking of sharing, I've signed up for the next IBC Blog Tour De Troops event mid November and will be using it to promote Blood Oath's release. You know what that means, right?  All things going according to plans, you'll have the third installment in your hands in just over 2 weeks!!!!

So don't worry if you see tumbleweeds in here the next few weeks .... it'll be all worth it and I'll be back to gushing and squeeing and of course, SWOONING!!
