BFF Banter - The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

You don't know HOW long I've wanted to do this feature and here it is... the FIRST EVER BFF Banter with Lacey! Ever since we met, we have gushed and ranted over the same books together and it seemed that it was only a matter of time before it overflowed onto here. We get so excited abou what we're reading, we have very similar tastes in books so we hope you enjoy!

Let me paint a picture for you: it's Saturday evening, a quiet house and two BFFs comfy on a bed with their Kindles out. What are they reading? The Iron Queen and what happens next is nothing short of hilarious. Throughout the entire book, Lacey and I read at the SAME speed. How did we know? Because we would SIGH and SWOON at the exact same time that it started to feel we were reading in stereo. We loved the same parts, are addicted to Prince Ash so it's perfect that our first banter be on the third book of an amazing YA fantasy romance. Let's get started.

*taps on keyboard*
Testing... testing... 1,2,3... this thing on?

Bels: So, Lacey? Team Puck or Team Ash?
Lacey: There was a guy named Puck in the story?
Bels: ROFL Ummm yes and he was pretty swoony too. He said some things that made me want to rip him from the book and make out!
Lacey: I liked Puck too and he did have some good moments in there that made my heart go pitter patter. I love his snarkiness but Ash... oh my gosh, Ash!
Bels: I LOVED Puck's snarkiness! He had some of the most classic lines and I LOVED the banter between Ash and him. I think this is the one we laughed the most over:

"Good idea," Puck echoed from the back of the cave. "Why don't you take the first watch, prince?" You could actually be doing something that doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out with a spork."
Ash's lips curled in a smirk. "I would think you're better suited to the task, Goodfellow," he said without turning around. "After all, that's what you're best at, isn't it? Watching?"

Bels: If I had to choose though.... hands down, Prince Ash. He's just too tortured and broody to ignore.
Lacey: So, what was your favorite Ash moment? Mine was * closes eyes, braces chest and sighes* the scene in the tent! So hot! If only she could've elaborated for another 6 pages!
Bels: Hahaha I know! I've never wanted to be a fly on the wall as bad as when Meghan and Ash FINALLY came together *blushes* Well.. you know what I mean. I was wishing during that scene it was an erotica I was reading. I wanted DETAILS!!
Lacey: LOL I totally know what you mean. I did love all those tender moments where he told her he loved her. Those were totally swoonworthy *sighes again and holds heart* Oh, and I loved when Ash told her "I'm a little possessive if you haven't noticed." Perfection! *sighes AGAIN*
Bels: I felt like I was in a constant swoon over Ash but I loved when he told Meghan "My life... everything I am... belongs to you." And then ending - I had to stop a few times because I thought I was going to die from a broken heart!

Bels: Was I the only one frustrated throughout the book when it seemed EVERY stinking time Ash and Meghan started kissing, there was an interuption? I was ready to skin Grimalkin and make him into a cute winter vest! I didn't mind so much with Puck... I had secret fantasies of him joining in LOL
Lacey: ROFL That is SO bad! But no, I was right there with you, I just wanted to pull out my ouzi and shoot everyone in the story. Don't skimp on the kisses!
Bels: Either that or drill ino Ash and Meghan's head "LOCKS PEOPLE!! There's a reason why doors have them!" LOL And what the heck is it with the board games? Alone time with Ash... SO many things Meghan can be doing and what do they do instead.... yahtzee, Scrabble and checkers! I totally understand if it was Twister or strip poker but really?
Lacey: All I could think of was the words I'd be spelling out in that Scrabble game - FRUSTRATED for 72 points and lead of the game!
Bels: KISS ME for 45 points
Lacey: BEDROOM for 16 points
Bels and Lacey: TONGUE for 100!!!
Lacey: We are so bad!
Bels: Yeah, but we love it! Ready for The Iron Knight?
Lacey: Can't wait! And in Ash's voice... HOLY HOT SWOON!

There you go, the official word from The Bookish Snob and The Romance Diva - we give it TWO PUCKERED LIPS UP! You all need to read this series!

So there you have it... the private banter between to book lovin' psychos BFFs made public. Tune in next time!!

My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.

My First Ever Blog Tour - Without Mercy

I'm so excited! Just in case you didn't know, I'm in the middle of a 3 day GIVEAWAY BLITZ to celebrate the release of my first ever story being published. Without Mercy is the first installment in my Mystic Wolves novellete series and I'm giddy over the amazing response it's received. As part of the blitz, I'm giving away over 50 COPIES! Yep, TWO copies at each blog stop so there's plenty of chances to win. And just to tempt you.... here's a small teaser.

Without Mercy by Belinda Boring

The loud click of a gun being cocked stopped me cold.  I didn’t need to turn around to see death had finally caught us. I closed my eyes for a brief moment and grimaced.
Seconds.  We’d missed freedom by mere moments and with adrenaline coursing through my body, a feeling of defeat crashed over me. To come so close and be stopped was devastating.
I dug deep for courage as my hand was squeezed. Jasmine would be terrified enough without seeing fear in my eyes and if we were going to get out of this, I needed to keep her calm. Or at least calmer than I felt.
Giving her a look I hoped conveyed confidence, I motioned for her to stay quiet as I positioned her behind me and turned to look at our attacker. All night I’d sensed the person breathing down our necks, following closely but always just out of sight. Now I could put a face to our stalker.
I saw the gun, aimed straight at me. The finger poised over the trigger ready to shoot. The hand holding it was steady and trained to adjust to every movement. I shied to the left and back again. Without hesitation, the gun’s motion mimicked mine.
Damn. Judging from the precise motions; whoever was holding the gun knew what they were doing. If they took a shot, they wouldn’t miss and out running a bullet was too risky.
A quick sniff at the air and drawing on my other senses told me I was dealing with a human male and I couldn’t help but grin at the bitter scent of fear mixed in with the sweetness of his excitement. It was intoxicating.

Where Have You Been, Ash? Iron Fey Series

Let it be said that sometimes The Bookish Snob is a little *cough* slow to catch on. All this year, I've been seeing the hype around the Iron Fey series, seeing Team badges for Ask and Puck and I promise, I made a mental note to read the series. But one thing led to another and before I knew it, the books got buried under others and forgotten.

I was on Facebook the other day and the wonder Stacey Clifford posted a quote from the series. It sparked my interest and after chatting back and forth with others, I decided to start reading. HOLY FREAKING COW! Bad Bookish Snob for being a procrastinator!! At first I thought, "Hmmm this Puck is amazing. So funny and with a cocky swagger... how will Ash ever compare?" Then the man himself appeared and the rest is history! I swear the Winter Fey had me from hello *insert swoon* so much that I've dedicated the rest of the post to little snippets from him that I loved and I hope anyone reading, who has been putting this series off like I did.... STOP! Hahaha

"Something cold touched my cheek, and I glance up to see snowflakes in a lightning-riddled sky. It was eerily beautiful, and I shivered. "What will happen then?"
Ash steepped closer. His fingers came up to brush the hair from my face, sending an electric shock through me from my spine to my toes. His cool breath tickled my ear as he leaned in.
"I'll kill you," he whispered, and walk away, joining his brothers at the table. He did not look back"
~ The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

"What do you want of me, Meghan?" he asked, a low thread of anguish flickering below the surface. Tears blurred my vision, all the fear and heartache of the past few days rising to the surface.
"Just you," I whispered. "I just want you."
He closed his eyes. "I can't do that."
~ The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa

I will add though, this part by Puck KILLED me and put tears in my eyes:

"I would have gotten you there!" Puck roared. "Me! You don't need his help! Don't you trust me to keep you safe? I would've given everything or you. Why didn't you think I'd be enough?"
~The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I'll accept any "Told you so's" now LOL

I'm excited to be part of the blog tour and this is definitely a book to read...When signing up, I tried to think of the best way to share a feel of the book. Without a doubt, I love book excerpts so I had Camilla choose one and I hope you enjoy it.

Let me show you the cover and blurb first!

** Book Excerpt **

The man was perfectly non-descript. White face, a little too pale like he didn’t spend much time outdoors, brown eyes, short brown hair and a neatly clipped beard. He wore a black suit and thin blue tie and held a big book in his hands. He seemed utterly relaxed where he sat in a large leather wing chair against a wall papered in taupe stripes. He could have been a professor or a TV grandfather reading a story. His voice, a rich baritone, was the only remarkable thing about him as he began to speak. “We, the Brotherhood, claim responsibility for killing the witches. For centuries, our forefathers have ignored these wicked beings but the time has come to cleanse our world of these...” Here he looked directly at the camera and waved a pointed finger as he spat the words, his mouth twisted in disgust, “Monsters. They who try to dazzle us with their magic, who claim to be good women, why, they are nothing more than witches! They are evil incarnate!”

The man swam out of view and new pictures flickered on to the screen. But it wasn’t the television reception fading again; it was image after image of silent women writhing amidst flames. Someone had filmed them as they burned. I pushed my hand into my mouth so that I could not scream for them.
“We have hunted the witches in France, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain, Norway, Russia and England,” continued the man, his voice laid over the horrendous scenes. “We will find every witch and we will not rest until every last one of them has burned and their blight driven from this earth. We are the Brotherhood and we have spoken.”

The video abruptly ended and the camera panned back to the horrified news anchor. Her mouth opened and closed like a petulant fish before she recovered her composure. “We have just seen a video reporting to be from the ... Brotherhood, who claim to be responsible for the murder of ... witches ... of women, throughout Europe.” She collected herself quickly, ending in an even tone, “We will bring you more news as developments arise.”

I reached for the remote and switched the channel over. The next station was just finishing the same clip. And the next station, and the one after that and by then I had run out of TV stations. Had all the cable stations just relayed the same message across the country too? Did every viewer have to see those images of the women dying so brutally?

When a fist pounded on my door, I jumped so high that hot tea slopped over the edges of the mug and splashed on my fingers. I had to bite my tongue to keep from screaming out loud more from fear than from being scolded.

I was tense with fear as I got up. I was sure no one else was in the building other than old Mrs Kemp and she never came upstairs, so whoever was at the door wasn’t someone known to me. I didn’t need to look around to know that there was no way out of the flat other than the door by which I had entered.

I wished I had an arsenal that I could draw on to protect myself or some kick-ass ninja skills. I wished I could have zapped my way out of there but I had to remind myself it wasn’t an exact art and I would probably materialise somewhere I didn’t want to be, like in the arms of a gang who wanted to burn me to death. Not an option.

Instead, I slipped towards the kitchen as lightly as I could, trying not to make the floorboards squeak. I snatched a dinner knife from the drawer and with this pathetic little weapon in my hand, I crept towards the door.

About The Author
Hi, I'm Camilla and I'm the author of Illicit Magic and Unruly Magic, the first two books in the Stella Mayweather Paranormal Series. The series starts with a lonely young woman, Stella, who has been caught up in a terrifying witch hunt and is whisked thousands of miles away to what she thinks is safety to learn her craft. The series is a blend of magic, mystery and romance with a splash of humour - and while the girls really do go all out to save themselves, there's always a hunky guy or two on hand to help them out.  I live in London, UK but I try to travel as often as I can - lately I've been to Paris, all over Denmark, Luxembourg, and several US states. In my day job I'm a journalist and editor so I write for magazines, newspapers and websites throughout the world (my favourite assignment was spending a week riding rollercoasters - if you listen carefully you can probably still hear me screaming).

The Difference A Cover Makes!!

I got an email yesterday that made me SQUEE so hard! As much as I laugh over Cover Cringes, I'm more excited when I see an author do a redesign on a cover that doesn't do their story justice. Some of you may have missed it last year, but I reviewed the Jude Magdalyn series by L.M. Pruitt last year and it was like angels came down from heaven and sung songs of praise. I absolutely loved the story - it was the dark, gritty kind of urban fantasy I loved and I really feel the author has a gift for words. Trouble was, I wasn't too keen on the cover. My biggest worry was that people would see her cover and not buy the book because face it, we all have an inner "cover whore" within us. We do judge books by their cover because we like to be visually stimulated. How do you pick your fruit? You look for the most appealing. You don't spend hard earn money on a withered piece of fruit with bruised spots. Same with most things.

I am so excited for L.M. because the email contained a much needed, highly anticipated BRAND SPANKING NEW book cover for Shades of Grey and it is AMAZING! Holy cow the difference a good cover makes! Want to see? Good thing as well -  L.M. is going on book tour with The Bookish Snob Promotions in August so you'll all get to see how awesome she is and get a chance to win the book! Here it is... prepare to SQUEE!

Isn't this GORGEOUS??

To wet your appetite, head over to Smashwords and grab a FREE short from the series called Hole In The Wall. Also keep an eye out for the beginning of the tour!

Bleeder Blog Tour with author L.K. Rigel

SQUEE... SQUEE... and triple SQUEE!
Today I have author L.K. Rigel on the blog to share a little something about the third book in her apocalyptopunk series, Bleeder. I love that there's SO much more to her book than just werewolves and vampires (although I'm happily addicted to them) L.K.  brings something fresh... intrigued? Let me show you the blurb and cover...

Postapocapunk Romance
The King of Garrick wants to kill her.
The King of Allel wants to love her.
And shapeshifters stole her baby’s soul!

It’s been a hundred years since sea-level rise and global nuclear war wiped out most of humanity. Mallory is a chalice, one of the world’s rare fertile females who contract with the kings of the Concord Cities to provide natural-born heirs. It was supposed to be a pampered and uneventful life, but Mal becomes caught between King Garrick's scheme for world domination and the goddess Asherah's desperate plays for another god's attention.  In her struggle to survive, Mal must confront the most terrifying threat of all -- the truth of her past and the inevitability of her destiny.

** Book Excerpt **

[The Empanii are shapeshifters who can read human minds. Most people have a pleasant experience when they encounter an Empani. Sometimes not.]

Edmund had been brought up to know not to spend any more time with his chalice than necessary. At this point, the second phase of Mallory’s contract, they should have one or two more meetings and a soul ceremony, and she’d be out of his life forever.
But these were far from ordinary times.
“You named the female.” She lay on a blanket spread over the wild grass not far from the pond. Her hair was free of its braid, the way he liked it.
“I’ve broken a Concord or two before.”
“This is different, giving your counselor a name.” She rested her head on her elbow, and the hair cascaded over her shoulder like a shimmering white-gold veil. Was she trying to drive him crazy? “For a gesture, you risk having a Team of Inquiry brought in.”
“It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.” He brushed the hair out of her face and kissed her. “Forgive me?”
She smiled, proving his point. But she wouldn’t let it go. “This isn’t on the same level as planting tomatoes or electrifying raptor nets. Lady Bron had to renounce her name to become Counselor. Counselor of Garrick, I might emphasize.”
Fair play, as Harold would say. But on his daughter’s name, Edmund wouldn’t move.
“Why did you do it, Edmund?”
“One day as I watched Counselor play a game with her, she laughed. A full-on belly laugh out of a ten-week-old mite, the sound of pure delight at being alive in the world. I knew then she had to have a name.” He stretched out on the blanket. “Céilidh. It means celebration with music and dancing. My sister thanked me for it.”
“I thank you too, Edmund. It frightens me, but I admire you for it.”
She kissed his cheek. He turned to meet her lips, so soft, inviting him to take more. She ran a fingernail over the bee on his clavicle, a little habit of hers he had grown to love. He pushed his tongue between her lips, and she murmured her enjoyment. He slipped his hand inside her robe. She wasn’t wearing anything else.
She pushed him onto his back, and her hair fell all around him with the scent of ylang-ylang. He rolled her over on her back and kissed her neck, her breast, and traveled down her body. He didn’t want to take any more time; he had to have her now.
And she was ready for him. Mallory, Mallory. He drove into her, pounding at her. She pulled him closer. From out of nowhere, a wave of fury washed over him. He pounded harder, and he felt her anger too. It didn’t make sense, but the rage coursed through his veins.
She thrust her pelvis upward and grunted, wrapped her legs around him and pulled him deeper, not as if to please him, but to take something from him. She grabbed onto his shoulders and buried her face in his neck with an urgency he’d never felt before.
Something clicked in his mind. This was wrong. The Golden Wasp was still at sea. Mallory wasn’t yet in Allel.
He was in the Empani nest, the mad bog.
“Edmund.” Her voice, and not her voice. Too late. He gave way. He poured everything he
had into her, in a confused blend of orgasm and terror. The rational, banished part of him called out from behind a wall in his mind: get out!
“Edmund.” The voice was mix of Mallory and something else. “No matter what happens, I could never mean you any harm. I’m not sorry.”
“Shibbing shibadai!” He flew away as if she’d turned into a pillar of fire.

** Book Excerpt **

Locking and double checking the door behind me, I felt agitated like something was going to jump out at any moment. In hopes of relaxing a little before I sat down to write, I got myself a glass of water. Something moving across the backyard caught my eye. I moved closer to the kitchen window to get a better look. Mr. Sexton was walking through the trees towards the fence separating our properties. I thought about yelling at him, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to initiate conversation with him. He looked up and our eyes met for a moment. I stepped back from the window, my heart thudding. I felt like a child who had been caught spying. It only took a second to bully myself into stepping back towards the window to make sure he actually left.
He was gone; relief flooded me. Shutting my eyes for a brief moment I chastised myself for being weak. This was my property. I had every right to go outside and let him have a piece of my mind. My eyes opened to a horrible face pressed and contorted against the windowpane. A scream ripped from my throat as I stumbled backwards into the center island. Mr. Sexton's laughter drifted into the house from the other side of the glass, a sound that was every bit as infuriating as it was ominous. Fear fueled a white-hot anger inside of me.
“Get out of here,” I bellowed. “I'm calling the police”
I picked up the phone with shaking hands and dialed Detective Troy’s cell phone number. He answered on the second ring.
“Hey,” I said and then my mind went blank. I had no idea what to tell him. Was I being foolish for letting Mr. Sexton get to me with his crazy antics?
“This is Ella … Ella Reynolds.” I blushed like a school girl. Part of me wanted to hang up the phone and pretend this never happened. Another part of me demanded an ally.
“I know who you are.” He laughed. “What’s going on?”
He took my silence as a clue that everything was not alright.
“Are you all right?” His voice was suddenly lower and more policeman like.
“I’m fine—I’m sorry. I shouldn't have called. I'm overreacting.”
“About what?” His voice hummed with concern.
“I’ll tell you later. Don't worry about it—”
He cut me off. “What exactly are you overreacting about?”
“It's not important really. My crazy neighbor was staring at me through my window trying to frighten me—obviously it worked. No harm done, though. I'm fine. Really.”
“I'll be there in five minutes.”
“No, no—I'll see you … when I see you. I should go, get some work done.”
“Are you sure?”
Gabriel sighed, “Okay, if you’re certain—but call me immediately if you see him again.”
“I will Thanks. . . .”
I hung up feeling like a jackass. Did I seriously just call him to tattle on my neighbor?

About The Author
Many authors claim to have known their calling from a young age. Liz Schulte, however, didn't always want to be an author. In fact, she had no clue. Liz wanted to be a veterinarian, then she wanted to be a lawyer, then she wanted to be a criminal profiler. In a valiant effort to keep from becoming Walter Mitty, Liz put pen to paper and began writing her first novel. It was at that moment she realized this is what she was meant to do. As a scribe she could be all of those things and so much more. When Liz isn’t writing or on social networks she is inflicting movie quotes and trivia on people, reading, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. Liz is a Midwest girl through and through, though she would be perfectly happy never having to shovel her driveway again. She has a love for all things spooky, supernatural, and snarky. Her favorite authors range from Edgar Allen Poe to Joseph Heller to Jane Austen to Jim Butcher and everything in between.

Liz would love to hear from you and what you thought of Dark Corners. Please stop by and visit at any of the below mentioned networks:

** Book Excerpt **

Thorne’s face burned hot as he left her standing in the doorway. He galloped down the stairs and returned to the kitchen. Without a second thought, he poured himself a tall glass of bourbon. What in the hell am I doing?
The burn warmed his throat as he gulped down two more glasses. His nerves were just about shot. The thoughts that plagued him were about to drive him crazy. He couldn’t get the image of Raven standing under a stream of hot steaming water out of his head. Her dark hair falling in her face, her full ruby lips, plump and soft, kept his mind enthralled somewhere it never should have been.
She couldn’t be anything more than a pawn in his quest for justice. She was a vampire and he wasn’t. Falling into the same trap his father had, would only destroy him and what was left of his family. Raven was beautiful, there was no doubt about it, but she wasn’t human and there was no way around that.
No matter what his imagination conjured up, Thorne had to fight it as hard as he could. A viper took in his father and although certain Raven was nothing like that, she was what she was.
He tried to convince himself the road he chose was for the best. He gripped the counter firmly. This attraction to her is nothing, and I can get through the next several days just fine.
“Your soup’s boiling over,” Raven called out from behind him.
Thorne jumped at the unexpected sound of her voice.
“Oh crap!” he exclaimed as he yanked the hot lid off the Dutch oven. He hissed as the handle burned the palm of his hand. He dropped it and it clanked loudly as it bounced onto the floor.
Raven flew to his side and grabbed his hand. In an instant, she held it under a cold stream of water in the sink.
Thorn winced from the pain that seared across his palm.
“It’s not too bad.” She lifted his hand closer to her face and examined it closely. Rather maternally, as if by instinct, she softly pressed her lips to the burn, gently kissing it.
Thorne froze as her pursed lips touched his skin. Her cool mouth soothed the burn instantly. She looked up at him and with a slow motion, extended her tongue and softly licked the burn. A cold rush rippled across the injury and all pain immediately subsided.
“What—What did you do?” he whispered in disbelief.
“It’s all better now,” she replied still holding his hand close to her mouth.
Thorne, captivated by her touch, pulled his hand back just enough to skim his index finger across her bottom lip, and then slowly slipped it into her pink cool mouth. He held his breath.
Raven’s tongue wrapped around it as she intently stared into his eyes.
Thorne ran his finger along the edge of her teeth until he found the point where her fangs would slip down. He studied her reaction.
Raven closed her eyes. Her tongue slid farther down his finger and she moaned, as she tasted him. Slowly, her pristine white fangs dropped from their hiding place above her gum-line.
Thorne ran his finger over the tip of the razor sharp canine, fascinated. How would they feel gliding across his skin? He inhaled deeply to slow the blood which rushed quickly to his groin, and aroused him even more with each erotic thought.
Raven moved her mouth back and caused his finger to drop to her lip. Her eyes glowed silver, just as he’d seen them change the night he met her.
“Careful,” she warned softly.
He held his breath for what felt like an eternity, the instant she spoke, he rapidly snapped back to reality and exhaled. He jolted back awkwardly, and felt overwhelmed by his sensual behavior as the tight bulge in his jeans tingled with desire.
“Don’t do that,” she whispered.
“Do what?” He asked so quietly he almost hadn’t heard himself speak.
“Don’t stop.”
He stared at her for a long moment, and then backed away. His chest pounded as he gazed down at her. She was truly irresistible.
Raven stood before him wrapped only in a towel. The cloth pinched under her daintily feminine arms and draped loosely at the upper most point of her thigh. She was a vision. Every inch of her was as delicate as a flower and she smelled sweeter than anything he’d ever known.
“I want you so bad, I can almost taste it.”  Did he actually say that aloud? Had he lost his mind?
“Now you know how my week has been.” She smiled.

Blood Hunter: The Beginning
Robin Badillo ~ Paranormal Romance

For thirty years, Raven Prince has lived just fine with no mate and no hassles. The carefree vampire, happy to be the odd-girl-out in a small, close-knit coven, lusts for one thing and one thing only—human blood. The more handsome the snack, the happier she is. Thorne Abbott, on the other hand, only has a taste for the blood of the vampire that savagely murdered his father eleven years before. The determined human won’t rest until that craving is satisfied, even if it means getting himself killed in the process. A sexy game of pool in a small town bar throws a wrench in both of their plans and ignites a flame so hot, neither could have extinguished even if they wanted to. The hunter and the hunted battle with themselves and each other as passion, love and a quest for truth sends them on a deadly mission that’s sure to either destroy them…or set them free. Can lovers from different worlds manage to see past their differences, or are there good reasons why the two species should never unite? Will it be friend or foe that goes bump in the night?

Get Your Swoon On - Picture Perfect by Deena Remiel

Sometime the simplest moments can steal your breath and make you swoon the hardest. It doesn't matter how many times I've read this, it makes me giddy sigh!

 ** TEASER **

"Jamie, hmmm?" She sat back and stared intently at him. "Yes, I can see you more as a Jamie, actually. It has a playfulness to it thatI sense in you."
"YOu may certainly call me by that if you want. Let's try it on for size. Say my name."
"Jamie." Her tone, very matter-of-factly. He cocked his head to the side and furrowed his brow.
"Hmmmmm. Say it again."
"Jamie." This time, her voice held a tenderness that tinged the edges.
He leaned toward her, just a touch. Just enough to let her know she intrigued him. "I like the way you say that. Say it again."
"Jamie." came out in a breathless sigh as she leaned in towards him so that their lips were but a touch away, and a question played in the sparkle of her eyes.
"Hope," he murmured and closed his own, moving through that last bit of space to press his lips against hers."

Favorite kiss from The Trouble With Spells.

“So was there a specific reason you called?” I asked. “Did you need something?”
“Yes. I needed to hear your voice.”
My heart melted into a puddle instantly and was replaced with the giddy knowledge that he missed me.
“Too sappy?” he asked when I didn’t reply.
“What? No! I mean … I mean I miss you too.” I laughed nervously. “You just caught me off-guard. That was really sweet, and unexpected.”
“I’m going to have to work on my game then, if it’s unexpected.” He chuckled. “Apparently, I need to try a little harder to let you know exactly how I feel.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, feeling nervous butterflies in my stomach at his teasing words.
“I mean if I didn’t think your dad would shoot me, I’d drop everything I was doing right now and come over there. Then I would pound on your door until you opened it up and let me kiss you senseless.”
My breath caught in my throat. “My dad’s not home tonight,” I whispered, and I closed my eyes, trying to imagine the picture he’d just painted.
“Hey, Portia, can you hang on for a sec? I’ll be right back.”
“Sure,” I said, wondering what he was up to now.
I waited for several moments and when he didn’t come back right away I started working on my math problems. After I’d done about five problems, I glanced over at the clock, wondering what had happened to him. He’d been gone for several minutes.
A thought suddenly struck me, and I jumped up off the bed.
