Craving Romance? Visit The Romance Reviews Website

I would be remiss in my celebrating of romance duty this month if I didn't take some time to share my excitement about a website you can visit that just OOZES romance.  If you're like me, you like being able to go to one place and find everything you need and The Romance Reviews is THAT place when you're wanting to find out the latest in romance novels and book reviews. Of course, I may be a little biased because I share my own reviews with them but whenever I'm looking for a new book to read, I'll pull up the website and start looking. One of the things I LOVE most about this site is that there is an amazing variety on Indie authors shown, books I'd never known were out there. So I asked Carole, the lady who helps run TRR to come by the blog and share a little of what you can expect when you come by. Enjoy!

Hi Belinda, thanks for giving me a chance to introduce The Romance Reviews to your readers! J

So tell me a little about The Romance Reviews (TRR)

As the name states, we mainly review romance novels, but we do accept stories of all lengths and sub-genres. We take in self-published works as well as books from small to large publishing houses, in either ebook or print format.

Other than reviews, TRR showcases books through in-depth interviews with authors. We also have contests, chats, and more to come! We have a rather high aim, which is to become a one-stop site for all your romance needs. Dream big, that’s our motto. And I want to share my favourite quote, which some may be familiar with: “Only as high as I reach can I grow, only as far as I seek can I go, only as deep as I look can I see, only as much as I dream can I be.”

We have a catchy “R is for romance” slogan (you can see this in our banner), and we have 3 different sections that cater to your preferences: Romance (http://www.theromancereviews.com/), Erotic (http://erotic.theromancereviews.com/) and GLBT (http://glbt.theromancereviews.com/). I think those sections don’t need further clarifying. J

Oh, before I forget, we have a great event coming up in March (that’s next month!) with over 100 prizes worth over $1,500. Yes, it’s TRR’s GRAND OPENING! Save the date! Come and join us for a carnival of fun! We are located here: http://www.theromancereviews.com/

What sets TRR apart from other review sites?

I think first and foremost would be our vision, which is to deliver value-add to the readers, the authors, and the publishers. What is this “value-add”?

  • Do you have the compulsive itch to have every book as--or even before--they hit the bookstore? We make it easy for you. Click on the button of the online bookstore of your choice, including the publishers’.

  • Do you want to gush or squee about a favorite book? Check out the Books pages in each section and you may find a fellow book lover. (If you don’t find your favorite book there, let us know and we’ll add it in for you.)

  • For authors, we provide them a place to create their profile and list their books for the readers’ easy reference. Not only that, but we provide several options for them to reach the readers, including reviews, chats, interviews and ad placements. For the ads, we cross-promote within the site and on platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, TRR blog and the newsletter. It’s really great value for money. To top it off, all ads are at 50% discount until end of March.

Our website is also structured a bit differently. If you go to a particular book…For example, let’s take one of Belinda’s favorite—Goddess of Legend by P.C. Cast :  http://www.theromancereviews.com/viewbooks.php?bookid=975  You’ll see that all the information about Goddess of Legend is there in one place – summary, review, comments, interview – and we will have more details coming up soon, like excerpts, etc! We try to make it easy for you to get the information that you want and need. J

What can visitors expect when they come to the website?

A friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Information galore. Lots of activity, that’s for sure! J

Reviews are updated daily, and we constantly have books (new and old) being added into the database. Authors and readers also drop in periodically to chat at The Lounge or give comments to books and reviews.

I’m sure you can see from the above that we’re working to be an interactive site for all romance lovers to chat, deliver and receive up-to-date news about books and authors. We are “interactive” because we provide a place for book lovers (authors, publishers, readers, reviewers) to talk about books and book-related stuff. For example, if you go to The Lounge area (http://www.theromancereviews.com/thelounge.php), you’ll see ongoing discussions on several topics. Authors and publishers can use the space to announce stuff regarding their books, and readers can squee over a highly anticipated release.

We have recently added a new element—the Featured Book Interviews where authors give additional insights into their books. You can find the featured books for the month on each of the Main pages and at the end of each interview. For the most part, these authors also offer giveaways. Everyone’s favorite! Mine, too. J There’s nothing like the thrill of receiving an autographed book.

You can also check out other contests here: http://www.theromancereviews.com/contest.php

Can you share a little bit about your reviewers?

TRR reviewers come from all walks of life—bloggers, mothers, retirees, professionals, even authors—but two things I can say about all of them is that, first, they love books, especially romance. They’re so enthusiastic they sometimes bowled me over. Second, they also write fair and balanced reviews based on their honest opinions of the books, while being tactful. I’m very proud and honored to have this opportunity to work with them.

And we’re looking to expand our little family! Yes, we are looking for more reviewers! We only have two criteria: you must love books and you must love reading ebooks. Not only is the ebook fast becoming the preferred format for books, but this is the format for most of the books that authors and publishers send us. If you’ve never written a review before, but are interested, that’s all right! Interested parties, please send me a sample review of a romance novel to caroletrr@gmail.com

What publishers and authors do you work with? How can authors have their books reviewed?

We work with a variety of authors and publishers, and we’re looking to add more to this list. Not only do we work with known publishers, but we also work with authors who decide to go the self-publishing route.

If you’re looking for me to drop names *grin* okay, I’ll oblige you. In March, for example, we’ll have Lynn Viehl, Julie Anne Long, Stacey Kennedy, HP Mallory, Michelle Pillow, Beth Williamson and Cherise Sinclair on the site, talking about their latest releases! In April, we’ll have Gaelen Foley and Grace Elliot, and in May, we’ll see Jennifer Estep and Chloe Neill, and many more.

Authors and publishers who’d like to request reviews for their books, please check out this link: http://www.theromancereviews.com/requestreview.php

Any last thing you’d like to share?

I’d like to invite you to come and take a look at The Romance Reviews (http://www.theromancereviews.com/). We all love romances here at TRR, so come and join us! Bookmark us, make us your home page! Stay awhile and look around. Most of all, don’t forget our Grand Opening in March. Come celebrate with us.

So there you have it. The Romance is an amazing website and for lovers of romance, one that is a MUST read. You'll find all kinds of goodies there. Thanks Carole, for coming by *grins*
