Book Blogger HOP #18 / FEVERfest Recap

January 14 - 17

Hosted by Jen at Crazy-For-Books

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!

"Why do you read the genre that you do?
What draws you to it?"

I am COMPLETELY addicted to reading all things romance and paranormal to the point where I rarely read anything else.  I hadn't read for YEARS until my friend DRUG me to see one of the Harry Potter movies, saying just how amazing it was. I walked into the theatre a doubting non reader and walked out with the overwhelming need to get online and buy the series. I loved them!! This led to me buying other "magic" based books.. which led me to reading fantasy... which led to me to vampires, werewolves and all things paranormal. I was solely reading YA then but that all changed when my husband bought me a Christine Feehan. The minute I closed that book, my addiction to romance EXPLODED and I've been a goner ever since.

When I read, I'm in it for the emotions and without a doubt that's what pulls me into the books I read. I love the intensity of the story lines and the incredible passion that happens between the characters. I love the discovery of love and attraction, the uncertainty of it being returned and the chaos that happens when to fiery characters butt heads in a contest of wills. I love sighing (and drooling) over the hero, whether he's a bad boy, broody, tortured, overprotective, arrogant... the more alpha he is the better!! I love getting to know strong female characters who aren't afraid to be themselves and who not only stand up for what they believe it but fight for it. With the paranormal aspect thrown in, I don't know what it is but I love the fantasy of it, the added danger it brings and face it - it's just plain HOT!!

LOL I just reread what I wrote and it doesn't come close to describing why I love reading the genre I do. It'll have to do though *pokes tongue at it*

Ahhhh I read just about every genre, if you can believe it, but I focus pretty much solely upon YA fantasy, paranormal, sci-fi and dystopian on my site. That said, I'm always trying to stretch into the realm of contemps :)

You really like those Fever books, eh? I'm intrigued!

I agree as well, I am a strictly paranormal girl now. If there isn't a trace of paranormal in it. I really don't care to read it.

Still love The Count of Monte Cristo though. It's my 1 exception!

Thanks for stopping by!
