Waiting On Wednesday #3

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I would consider the Tairen Soul series to be one of those "hallelujah chorus" finds. It was the first time I'd mixed pure fantasy with a strong romance theme and I wasn't sure what to expect. This series BLEW ME AWAY. It would seriously be in my Top Ten Must Read Books and Rain and Ellysetta are the PERFECT couple. So with four books down and the final book approaching release, I wanted to spotlight it as my WOW this week. I'm serious guys, this is an EPIC romance series !!

Teaser Tuesday #2

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading and it asks us to...

1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share a couple of “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Share the title & author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.

In My Mailbox #1

I have wanted to participate in this meme hosted by The Story Siren for the last few weeks but haven't been able to because both my mailbox and sadly my wallet has been EXTREMELY empty. I was looking through another blog site (hi Lyndsey) and happened to look at my dresser - HELLO new books!!! So it is with GIDDY pleasure that I can officially say - I'VE GOT MAIL

Book Blogger Hop #4 / My Week In Review

August 27 - 30, 2010

It's kind of uncanny how when each Friday rolls around and I look at the questions Jenny posts on her site, Crazy For Books because the question always seems eerily fitting. I've been struggling a little with my rating system, trying to iron out kinks and so it's been on my mind all week. Lo and behold, this week's fine BBHop question is ....

Do you use a rating system for your reviews and if you do, what is it and why?

Ok ... I Just Gotta Know

I've been reading through the blogs I follow, using the miraculous discovery I made last week (insert hallelujah chorus) Google reader and I have to say I'm loving it. Cool posts, amazing reviews (alot of books were added tonight to my Goodreads TBR list) and for the first time, I really took a closer look at the giveaways. I've never been a very lucky person so the idea of entering something I feel I'm doomed never to win, I kinda shy away from. But after all my new found bravado this week (telling the world about your dream kissing partner kind of does that) I figured "Why not?" LOTS of good giveaways and it raised a really important question that I'd really like some help with. How do you all receive ARCs of upcoming books? I'm a newbie and so I review the books either I already have, just bought or had the fortune of the author email me. I'd  really like to learn more about the process and who I would need to approach. Any advice would be VERY MUCH welcomed and GREATLY appreciated (I'd be on my knees if I could but I'm so tired right now I don't think I'd be able to get back up) Thanks for your help :D

Headline: Matt Lanter Causes A Blush To Be Witnessed Around The World

When I woke up this morning, stretching out and refusing to move from my comfy spot in bed, everything seemed right in the world. That's when it hit me. Last night I had added a post on my Shrine page called "Who The Heck Is This Matt Lanter Guy?" and within about 30 minutes, THE Matt Lanter (one of the HOTTEST actors in the world) had not only visited my site and READ the post, but had then gone onto his twitter page and gave it "two thumbs up" It seemed like it was just a dream and that's when it hit me harder.

Waiting On Wednesday #2

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This gives me a REALLY good opportunity to cruise through my Goodreads TBR list and keep an eye on all the upcoming release date. This week as I tried to think of what I want to share, book after book after book came to mind and it was really hard to choose. So instead of sitting here with a knot in my stomach, I'm going to pull up my TBR pile, pick a number and VOILA, my WOW for this week. Ok the lucky number will be....... 23!!!

The Lovely Blog Award

I'm pretty speechless right now and so forgive me if I don't insert a rant anywhere in here :D  It felt really good when I found out LMW from The Delusional Diaries had given me the One Lovely Blog Award and it gave me a much appreciated boost.  I think it's a great way to show support to one another and let someone know "Hey I see you and I like what you're doing" So a big MWAAH and thanks to LMW and onto where I pass the love on.

There are a few rules with the giving and passing of the award and here they are ...

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered.
3. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

Musing Monday #1

I came across this interesting weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading and I thought it would fun to be a part of. I love some of the questions that are asked and really get me thinking. The question this week is actually something I've thought over for the past month and so I KNEW I had to at least attempt answering it. So here it is...

"If your house was burning down –and you could SAFELY grab a book on your way outside to safety– what book would you make sure you ‘rescued’? Why?"
The idea of any of my books burning is a panic inducing experience. I tried to think what I would grab and I honestly have NO idea. I'd like to think the only thing on my mind at that moment is to make sure my family and chihuahuas get out safely. Books can be replaced (although the idea of losing the thousands of dollars I've spent on books nauseating) and so I would probably grab my laptop because I've catalogued my library. Slowly after time I'd rebuild and everything would be peachy. BUT for arguments sake, what would I pick? I don't know. The only thought I can think right now (and maybe it's crazy) but I have so many favorites it's like asking me to choose which of my children to save. I'm an emotional reader and so the books in my library I've felt a connection with and so naturally (at least to me) I would want to save them all. I know that's not realistic so I'm willing to compromise. I'm going to have my husband put a moveable shelf by my door and I'll try to keep a pile of a 100 or so books (that's a great compromise seeing I have over 1000) . That way when my house is in fire, on my way out I'll grab the shelf and pull it out with me. Yep, that's what I'll do. Chest pains easing. No need for Pepto Bismal.

Let's See A Show Of Hands

So I've been thinking (I know, pretty scary but it's all good I promise)On the Book Blogger Hop this week, twice I saw cool blog entries where the reader took their favorite book and came up with a dream cast for it. I can't begin to tell you how much fun that would be, and maybe even a tad frustrating because I'd want to be on the next plane toward the biggest production studio on the planet banging their doors down to show them how PERFECT the book would be for a movie. (wow that was a long sentence) My mind just races with all the wonderful possibilities and makes a quick scan of all the books on my bookshelves. Here's a list of some of the book series I'd love to see as a movie (and this list is BY FAR only what I can think of off the top of my head)

Oh Good Grief ...

I am so embarrassed. All day today as I've been hopping all over the Blogging Kingdom, I've seen the word "Google Reader" and I've been scratching my head wondering "What the heck are they talking about?" I've been trying to figure out since I started blogging how I was going to remember who I was following, resorting to putting the sites in my favorites  (now... that's what I call a nice jumble of urls ). Imagine my surprise when I opened up my Dashboard and scrolled the page ALL the way down. ROFL hello .. Google Reader !! So, after looking through it, amazed at how it makes everything so much easier, I can say for sure that I follow 46 blogs. Like I said, I'm so embarrassed :D

Book Blogger Hop #3

August 20-23, 2010

Where has the week gone? It seems that it was only yesterday that it was time for the Hop and I'm left wondering what the heck have I done all week? LOL I know what I've been doing, I've been sitting on my computer every night :D Which seems pretty fitting because this week's questions (courtesy of Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books)is

How many blogs do you follow?

My Bookshelves Are About To EXPLODE !!

Today was my first time being a part of Waiting On Wednesday and I have to say I loved it. Unfortunately my bank account isn't going to feel the same and I'm probably going to live on ramen noodles FOREVER.  I added ALOT of books to my TBR list and my head is literally spinning, trying to put some kind of order to the madness and remember when everything comes out.

"Waiting On" Wednesday #1 - No Mercy

Visiting one of my favorite book blogging site, Heaven, Hell and Purgatory I saw that she participated in a weekly blog event hosted by  where those that participate share what book they are eagerly anticipating. I like the idea of having a set blog entry where I could share one of the books I have on my ever growing "to buy" book list. The only problem is picking just one so after drawing a title out of a hat, this week's "I can't wait to read it" is No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I LOVE her Dark Hunter series and this is the next book to add to the collection.

Top Ten Tuesday #1

I thought I would try something new this week and found this cool listing at The Broke And Bookish Blog Site Each week on the site, The Broke And Bookish post a question for other bloggers to answer and each blogger registers their names on a list. The goal is to post an entry on your own site, then visit other blog sites participating and get to know them. This week's question is:

When A Kiss Can Mean So Much More

Not like we need any other reason than it drives us insane and melt our insides, but I was kinda goofing off on the internet and found this article called  5 Secret Benefits of Kissing Just thinking of the title had me imagining women all around the world grabbing their men, locking lips while the men scratch their heads wondering what the heck happened.  "But it's great for my health!" each woman replies. I say this - any excuse that let's me grab the man I want and throw him up against a wall for a hot steamy kiss is one I'm going to use. But just a warning, what follows may kill the mood. Book Blogger Hop #2

August 13 - 16, 2010
hosted by Crazy Jenniferwww.crazy-for-books.com
It's that time again to do the HOP so here's this week's question :

How many books are on your "to be read" shelf?

When I read that this was the question of the week, I found myself staring at my computer screen laughing (you'll see why in a minute) A second later and mid snort the hysteria past and I found myself in a blind panic. I think the next few photos will explain my reactions :

The Book Blogger Hop #1

August 6 - 9, 2010

I love going to other book reviewing blogs and seeing some of the fun things they're getting up to. I've learned about alot of cool books that are out there that I haven't heard about before and so when my TBR pile goes even more ridiculously high and my bank account dwindles down to pennies, I can safely say "Oh honey, it's not my fault. Look at all these bloggers and what they're saying about the books. I just HAD to buy them" (*wink* that's the key to getting away with things - having a good alibi beforehand) Anyway, some of the blog sites I've visited had this icon on it and I thought it sounded like a good idea to become a part of. This is the blurb to explain it :
