In My Mailbox #14

Mailbox is a neat meme hosted by The Story Siren where we can celebrate some of the great books and treats we've received over the week. It doesn't matter if they were bought, sent through the mail or borrowed. It's a great opportunity to join in on the fun and share some of your "treasures" with everyone!!

( click on the title for my mailbox )

Two items of business this week .....

First, I finished the NaNo *YAY* and can now have some of my life back LOL It was an amazing experience and hopefully I can keep the momentum going and finish the novel completely. It felt so good that last time I did a word count and saw that I reached 50,000 words and I'm pretty sure I'm going to sign up again next year. Thanks for all your support guys :)

Second, *insert some mumbled words with the hope that no one understands it* LOL Ok I'll say it louder...

I fell of the no buying books wagon
and did it SPECTACULARLY!!

Here's some loopholes I thought of using -

1. I was in a Vicodin induced fog for a week and so any manic book buying is automatically forgiven
2. I don't know how they appeared on my Kindle. Must have been my Book Godmother. Aaah so nice to be loved.
3. I dreamed I was buying books and when I woke my Kindle was fuller (UGH that was really bad English)
4. "I was buying books? Wow how strange I thought I was *insert something lame and bizarre because I'm too tired to think*

For whatever reason, I fell hard and I'm left wondering whether I'll continue. LOL so *insert trumpet announcement* here's the damage!!!

This was a HUGE shock. I came home to find a package from Karen Ukraine at Hachette Books on my doorstep with no note. I open it up and out falls Sin Undone by Larissa Ione. This is where it gets real Twilight Zone - a week or so before I was tweeting about not ever reading it and then suddenly I have it in my mailbox. Thank you so much Karen - you made my day!

Talk about making my day, another package came to me with a new sexy installment of my book crush Vance Mangum. Blood Of The Witch was just released and the author (and my BFF) sent me a signed copy!! This one's especially special because I'm mentioned in the acknowledgments.

WOW - so many books! I can't wait to see your reviews of all of these!

Ailsa said...

Wow, that is a lot of books.

I saw Pale Demon on NetGalley. I'd really like to ask for it, but I don't know if they'd give it to someone like little ol' me. I wanted to try and post a couple of review for other NG books first, but maybe I should just go for it... *needs to know what happens next* I love those books.

Thanks for stopping by the blog, I'm a new follower here :-)
