Book Blogger HOP #13 / My Week In Review

October 29 - November 1, 2010

Hosted by Jen at Crazy-For-Books

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!

*click on the title for the answer to this week's question*

"What is the one bookish thing you would love to have, no matter the cost?"

Of course the obvious comes to mind - I'd like a library in my home but I have that already and all it really lacks is a comfy, comfy sofa chair and a snuggly blanket. But as I re-read the question, "no matter the cost" sticks out and so I'm going for gold and sharing my HUGE book dream.

I would love to run my very own The Bookish Snob bookstore. I want it to be jammed packed filled with wonderful books, shelves and shelves filled and have ambience lighting with chairs scattered throughout. I'd like to also have a little cafe built into the store where you can sip on your favorite beverage and nibble on book themed finger foods. I want to offer things like children's book hour, host book club meetings and writing workshops. I would seriously be in heaven, sharing my passion for reading with those that visit.

Another bonus for running my own bookstore is that I'll have the freedom to write when the mood strikes. Nothing's more frustrating then having the story you're working on start writing itself when you're stuck at work for 8 hours and can't sit at the computer to write it down. I carry around notebooks, write post it notes on my cell, even use my phones voice recorder to take down what I'm thinking but nothing beats those first initial moments when it's flowing out uniterrupted.

So that's my one bookish thing that opens the way to do the things of my heart.

My Week In Review

I've had a pretty slow week because I've had to rely on painkillers to get through the day. If I wasn't in a drugged haze, I was passed out cold asleep so everything has kind of passed me by. But this is what I managed to do :)

I'M OFFICIALLY ON A BOOK BUYING BAN. I'll be posting my thoughts on it some time this week.
This Sunday (October 31st) I'll be part of L.M. Pruitt's book blog tour so stop by, read my reviews and learn why LM Pruitt is the author to watch out for :)

SPOOKTACULAR - Ends October 31st. I'm offering 4 books from Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series.
Bite Me, Change Me, Corrupt Me - Ends October 31st. I'm offering 3 books - Eternal Kiss Of Darkness, Noah and Beyond The Darkness.

In the process of writing book reviews for:

Shades Of Desire by LM Pruitt
Four Thousand Miles by Jesi Lee Ryan

Waiting for release:

A Tournament Knight by Marisa Chenery

And on a personal note...

I would come to your bookstore. That is my secret dream. I'd settle for a nice bookshelf that the kids can't get to though!

Happy Halloween!

I'm here for the blog hop and Follow Friday! I just love these. Answer for the Hop is an IPad or Kindle. Answer for the Follow Friday is: The books I would chose would be Dr. Suess' when she was young then as she grew older I would definitely recommend the Nancy Drew and Trixie Beldon books! I loved them when I was young. Here my links and you can find me on facebook too!!/judithleger

I'll be a customer!
Good luck with your ban- it's difficult to attempt that over here because a lot of books are released just before Christmas, especially big name authors.

Thanks for hopping by my blog! Your answer is brilliant! I always said it's be awesome to have a YA exclusive bookstore and I'd name it The Rabbit Hole and it would be Alice and Wonderland themed. I agree, writing on the job would be nice!

Have an awesome weekend!
