Book Blogger Hop #10 / My Week In Review

October 8-11, 2010

Hosted by Jen at Crazy-For-Books

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read! (click the title)

This week's question is :

What's your favorite beverage while
reading or blogging,  if any? Is it tea, coffee,
water, a glass of wine, or something else?

It's a toss up between ICE cold water and diet mountain dew or diet coke. Most times I'm up to all hours of the night reading and blogging with my eyes rolling back in my head. I work all day and so most of my stuff needs to be done in the evening and I've developed the mentality of "Give me five more minutes and I'll stop". Problem is I then take a mouthful of soda and my five minutes starts all over again. I don't usually stop unless I pass out or I'm tired of having to get up every 20 minutes to pee. The water comes in when I wake up in the morning and I feel seedy and HUNGOVER from all my soda drinking and no sleep from the day before. Do you think that stops me from doing the same thing later that day? Nope. It's a VICIOUS VICIOUS cycle I tell you !!  LOL

My Week In Review

This week has been CRAZY !! I was approached by 4 authors to review their books and just one look at the blurbs told me I was in for some amazing reading. It seriously felt that every time I opened my email I found some kind of surprise waiting for me. Two of those authors will be stopping by at the end of the month to talk about their books so hopefully you'll come by read my reviews and meet them.

I'm also one week into my HP Mallory giveaway and I want to thank ALL you wonderful bloggers who've entered so far. I LOVE To Kill A Warlock and Fire Burn And Cauldron Bubble so I'm really excited that TWO people will get to win their own copies. Please take a few moments to fill out the entry form because the books are REALLY good and are must reads for all readers addicted to romance, the paranormal and urban fantasy genre. Click here to go to the HP Mallory Books Giveaway post or my interview with HP Mallory. Good luck!!

Thank you to everyone that took part in my new weekly meme Waiting For Pay Day this week and I hope that it's something that people have fun with. I know it's given me the chance to stop looking forward to what's coming out and remember some of the older books that had my blood pumping. Just from the quick look through my TBR list on Goodreads had me thinking that maybe I needed to re look at what I was going to use my book budget for. For those that missed this week  here's what you missed . Hopefully we'll see you next Thursday

Haha. <3 I usually drink ice cold water, too! :D I can't drink room temperature water. No idea why.

And I feel a bit OCD with my reviews, because I must, must, MUST have a glass of Very Vanilla Soymilk when I'm writing them! :S

My hop is here :)

*Huggle* I remember when I was in a similar cycle as you - that's how I lived my middle school and prep school days - I totally get what you mean about feeling hung over in the morning.

I too read mostly at night or in the bus going places. I've tried to read during the day but either I'm busy or TV distracts me.

Happy Weekend of Book Blog Hop!

Oh, my! I remember the terror of night time hangovers!! I gave up pop, after a pulled a 5 in the morning late night. :P

Hahaha that IS a vicious cycle! I do not do so well with caffeine, plus when I drink it while reading, I am suddenly done with the can before I know what hit me. It's like how you're not supposed to snack while you watch TV because you'll eat the entire bag of chips!

Hopping over from the blog hop! I am a tea of coffee drinker... anything hot! I'm a new follower. Check out my blog and follow back if you want!

I also have a problem with drinking caffeine before bed, and I totally understand the "hungover" feeling you mentioned! I have it all the time when I have to wake up early for class!

Sheery said...

Oh my gosh - your post has me laughing so hard. Mainly because I do the same thing. I stay up WAY TOO LATE reading, writing and blogging. Then I have what I call a reading hangover the next day. And my days start early with my kids. You'd think I'd know better but I'm addicted to reading, etc.

I love your blog and am a new follower. Thanks for stopping by/following mine.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Depends on my mood, but ice cold water is usually a good one for me. Four authors in one week!! That is a good week. I've had several pitches this, but nothing got my interest. Schedule is a little packed, I have to learn to say no.

I'm with you. A glass of ice cubes and wather...has to be filled to the top of the glass with the cubes. I wish soda would help me stay awake, but caffeine never had that affect on me.

i hear ya on the vicious cycle, and it's a beautiful, delicious thing: coffee in the morning, water during the day, something scrumptioucly alcoholic at night. mmmmmm

have a great weekend!

Hey, there! Returning the hop. Thanks for stopping by. BTW, I sympathize with the book buying issues. I buy them faster than I can possibly read them! I've reigned it in some lately, but only by staying out of the bookstores. Then I usually go made and buy five more.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am a huge fan of diet rootbeer and love to have one at least one per day. I convince myself that they're find to drink because they're decaf.

Have a great week!
