I love reading Urban Fantasy. I can't remember how I heard of the Kate Daniels series but it is by far one of my favorite series to read. Kate is this kick ass character who isn't the kind of woman that hides behind a man as she points screaming at the itty bitty spider in the corner. No she runs out with her sword at the ready and those around her need to make sure they can keep up. I love everything about her as a character. Of course, being who I am, I'm hopelessly in love with Curran. I mean HOPELESSLY. He's the second (well first actually) reason why I devour each book in the series. I chose this book as my favorite because this is the book I like to call the "Kate and Curran finally get the crap together" Sexy and intense, I was left panting in parts. You don't get much better than them :)

Magic Bleeds

The Kate Daniels series
Ilona Andrews / Urban Fantasy

My Review
Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren’t for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it rose. Kate Daniels works for the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle—especially if they involve Atlanta’s shapeshifting community. When she’s called in to investigate a fight at the Steel Horse, a bar midway between the territories of the shapeshifters and the necromancers, Kate quickly discovers there’s a new player in town. One who’s been around for thousands of years—and rode to war at the side of Kate’s father. This foe may be too much even for Kate and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, to handle. Because this time, Kate will be taking on family…

Sounds like a great book and it's the second time I've seen it this week (although I can't for the life of me remember where else).
