In My Mailbox #5

In My Mailbox is a neat meme hosted by The Story Siren where we can celebrate some of the great books and treats we've received over the week. It doesn't matter if they were bought, sent through the mail or borrowed. It's a great opportunity to join in on the fun and share some of your "treasures" with everyone!! (click on the title)

I also have a tech questions at the bottom :)

So I started out this week with a book allowance and after going to my local Walmart walked away with some books that caught my eye. Despite the fact that I have LOADS of books sitting waiting to be read I knew I just had to have them.

A Highland Duchess by Karen Ranney
Reckless by Anne Stuart
Born To Bite by Lynsay Sands

So I went home and settled in for the weekend and remember that I'd downloaded the Kindle application to my phone. What your about to see is the VERY reason why putting a Kindle and a credit card in the hands of a book junkie with POOR impulse control is a VERY VERY VERY dangerous thing. Know how the dollar stores suck you in with the illusion that you can shop there and buy whatever you want because a dollar is a pittance? Yep, don't fall for it - it's a crock!! I have no idea who to blame for this (I make it a point never to blame myself) hmmm I blame my BFF Lacey because she was with me when I downloaded the Kindle application to my phone. In my defense though, most of these were either free, 99c, $1.99 or $2.99 (remember the dollar shop illusion)

Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Atlantis Betrayed by Alyssa Day
Heart of Fire by Kristen Painter
I Thought It Was You by Shiloh Walker
The Darkest Prison by Gena Showalter
The Vampire Shrink by Linda Hilburn
Lover Awakened by JR Ward
Marked by Elisabeth Naughton
Night's Pleasure by Amanda Ashley
Shadow Fall by Erin Kellison
The Pearl Heartson by Leila Brown
The Diamond Heartstome by Leila Brown

His Lady Mistress by Elizabeth Rolls
Penelope & Prince Charming by Jennifer Ashley
The Claybourne Brides by Julie Garwood

Fade by Amanda Hocking
Flutter by Amanda Hocking
Wisdom by Amanda Hocking
The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
The Iron King by Julie Kagawa
Hush Money by Susan Bischoff
Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers

and the FIND OF THE CENTURY... A BOOK I NEVER KNEW EXISTED

Divine Beginnings by PC Cast ( This is the prequel to an AMAZING AMAZING series)

Needless to say because of this craziness I wasn't able to buy the next BDB book Lover Revealed :( Which leads me SHAMELESSLY into a plug for my new meme.... WAITING FOR PAYDAY

Beginning this Thursday I'm going to host a new meme called "Waiting For Pay Day". It's to showcase those books we desperately want that have us frantically searching under the couch cushions and turning our purses and wallets inside out. When after all our searching we're still penniless, we utter those prophetic words "I'll just have to wait for pay day" Feel free to revisit your TBR lists as well.

Ok here's my tech question -

I'm running two new giveaways in October and I LOVE the forms you guys use in yours. I've gone to Google documents, created the form and from then on I'm reading another language. It's probably something so simple but I am extremely computer illiterate I have no idea how to then get it where my blog will link to the document. I want it so you can click the link here and it takes you to the form. Can anyone help me or point me in the direction of a tutorial? Also the spreadsheet that I found when I clicked on something - is that were the entries are stored? If you can help, please email me at thebookishsnob@hotmail.com The only thing I ask is that you explain it like you would your grandmother (well maybe not like that but you get the idea) Thanks :)

Great books! I bought Reckless last weekend but then realized I need to read Ruthless first. Now I'll have to go book shopping again. I also have a bunch of unread books at home but there is nothing like buying a new book. :)

Great books!!

With the Google Doc I had the same thing. Down the bottom of the screen where you make up the form there is a link. I usually just copy the link and put it in blogger. I know this is not very explanatory but I'm not real good at that lol.

Hope you work it out!

Oh wow, you got so many books! I'm waiting to get my Kindle and I'm afraid that something like that will happen. It'll be easy to just click on the books that I want to get and I wouldn't know what hit me until I get my credit card bill.

WOW! That's a LOT of books!

Not at all tech savvy unfortunately, I tried looking at Google documents and I got confused!

My mailbox is set to post itself in under 20 minutes, so stop by if you want to see my hoard! L)

Amazing books this week. Personal Demons was really good and I really enjoyed Iron King, but I haven't read any of the other books in the series. And the Kindle application is so clutch- but I spend way too much money as well!

I learned how to use Google Docs because of Parajunkee! She has a complete tutorial on her design site.

Here is the link:

I hope it helps! Great books this week! I'm in cover love with most of them, but then again, I usually am when it involves men with hard bodies. :D

Wow! I hope you enjoy all of your new books! I have the Kindle app on my iPad, and yeah, it is a dangerous piece of software...

Lillie (AliseOnLife) said...

Those are some really great books! I ignored my book-buying ban yesterday to pick up Born to Bite, but while I was there, I reasoned that I could get 4 other books because I had just gotten paid.
I'll definitely try to participate in your "Waiting for Pay Day" meme for that reason!

Casey (The Bookish Type) said...

What a lot of books - yes, it's too easy to buy books through Kindle!!!

I have never had the language issue when using Google Docs, sorry. The spreadsheet you clicked on would be the one that self-populates when people enter on your form.
