In My Mailbox #4

In My Mailbox is a neat meme hosted by The Story Siren where we can celebrate some of the great books and treats we've received over the week. It doesn't matter if they were bought, sent through the mail or borrowed. It's a great opportunity to join in on the fun and share some of your "treasures" with everyone!!

(click on the title)

It's been a fun week to be a book lover. I finally made the decision to sell my soul (ok I know that's dramatic) and buy a Kindle for my birthday. To prepare myself for it, I downloaded the kindle app. on my phone and bought bought My Blood Approves and Dark Lover. So far, I'm loving it. Also this week, I finally succumbed to the lure of the Brotherhood and bought the first book in the BDB series. I've heard good things so we'll see how it goes. So far Wrath is just a WEE bit scary but I have a feeling that he's going to be a kick ass bad boy. Happy reading everyone !

Here's the book blurbs -

Demon From The Dark by Kresley Cole

A dangerous demon she can't resist...
Malkom Slaine: tormented by his sordid past and racked by vampiric hungers, he's pushed to the brink by the green-eyed beauty under his guard.
A maddening witch he aches to claim...
Carrow Graie: hiding her own sorrows, she lives only for the next party or prank. Until she meets a tortured warrior worth saving.
Trapped together in a savage prison...
For them to survive, Malkom must unleash both the demon and vampire inside him. When he becomes the nightmare his own people feared, will he lose the woman he craves body and soul?

Entwined by Elisabeth Naughton

ZANDER — The most feared of all the Eternal Guardians. It’s rumored he can’t be killed, and he always fights like he has nothing to lose. But as a descendant of the famed hero Achilles, he’s got to have a vulnerability… somewhere. Forces of daemons are gathering and have broken through the barriers of the Underworld. Now more than ever the Eternal Guardians are needed to protect both their own realm and the humans’. Zander can’t afford to think about what might have been with the bewitching physician he once regarded as his soul mate. But with eternity stretching before him, he also can’t fathom spending his life without the one woman who makes him feel most alive. Perhaps he’s found his weakness, after all…

Much Ado About Marriage by Karen Hawkins

Meeting lovely Fia is all it takes to turn Thomas's espionage mission in Scotland topsy-turvy. Flirting in the woods with the seductive, infuriating lass leaves him captive in the MacLean castle, but his escape attempt brings worse! Caught in an apparently compromising position with the lady, the English earl has no chance to make any ado before he finds himself wed. Thomas is on a serious assignment, but Fia's sharp tongue and saucy wit bring mayhem to his life. How can he concentrate, when just one glance from her makes him burn with desire?

Dark Lover by JR Ward

The only purebred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed - orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate - Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead. Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn't there, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both.

My Blood Approves by Amanda Hocking

Seventeen-year-old Alice Bonham's life feels out of control after she meets Jack. With his fondness for pink Chuck Taylors and New Wave hits aside, Jack's unlike anyone she's ever met. Then she meets his brother, Peter. His eyes pierce through her, and she can barely breathe when he's around. Even though he can't stand the sight of her, she's drawn to him. But falling for two very different guys isn't even the worst of her problems. Jack and Peter are vampires, and Alice finds herself caught between love and her own blood.

Crusade by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie

The ultimate battle. The ultimate love.

For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain's Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power, and the battle has only just begun. Forced to return home after death takes a member of her family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated—and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose. Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself—and her heart.

I agree about the BDB. Yummy and good reads. My Blood Approves series is good, but I like her newest series, The Trylle Trilogy even better. Only one book so far, Switched, but the second, Torn, is due out November I think. Glad you didn't have to drive 2.5 hrs. for Personal Demons. ;)

those look awesome! Especially My Blood Approves :) Yeah, my library is pretty kick ass. It is the state capital library and it is connected to like 15 other cities libraries or something, so if they don't have it, or someone has it checkout out they will send another copy over for you, and you usually get it the next day. It is so awesome!!

Oh, your jumping on the BDB train! The first book surprised me that I even liked it but I liked them more as they went on. I still haven't finished the series because I'm not a fan of the cat and mouse stuff that happens in most romances, so I need breaks from that. I don't think I've read a BDB this year and it's time to read another. I think I have 3 left to read that are out. I hope you love them though! I definitely like them a lot!
You got a lot of great books!
Oh, and thanks for telling me Divine by Mistake is good cause I don't think I've heard much about that series at all. I got it because of the author and I was curious. We'll see, I guess, but you saying it's good makes me a bit more excited to read it!
